Peppermint reminds me of the holidays. The taste. The smell. Peppermint patties have been a long time favorite of mine. Since giving up sugar, I’ve been determined to make a healthier, sugar free version. I’m thrilled with the finished product. Much better than a York!
Conventional peppermint patties contain corn syrup, sugar and artificial flavors. I’ve replaced these ingredients with nutrient dense ingredients like coconut and coconut oil (some of the healthiest foods on the planet), which add to health, rather than take it away. Coconut oil contains medium chain triglycerides, the most usable form of fat. Fat is an essential part of a healthy diet. Peppermint also has a long list of health boosting properties. Peppermint is a powerful digestive aid and can ease stomach pain. Peppermint also helps eliminate food cravings, headaches, and one of my favorite benefits of peppermint, if inhaled, can immediately unclog sinus congestion. Ahhhh!
It doesn’t get much better than these creamy chocolate covered melt-in-your-mouth mints. They’re totally guilt free and will leave you feeling satisfied, refreshed, and coming back for just “one more”.
